| Turgenev, Andrei Vyacheslav Kuritsyn(who wrote the novel under the pen-name Andrei Turgenev) was born in 1965 in Novosibirsk. He studied journalism at university in the Urals before taking a postgraduate degree at Moscow University. Famous as a literary and arts critic, Kuritsyn is founder and president of the humanitarian conference «Kuritsyn’s Readings»», founder of the internet site «Contemporary Russian Prose with Vyacheslav Kuritsyn», curator of art exhibitions including the largest ever exhibition of modern Russian art ((«Davaj», Berlin–Vienna, 2001–2002). He is a member of the Russian PEN Club. He is the nationally acclaimed author of a number of books of prose and poetry including bestselling fiction titles WATERCOLOUR FOR MATADOR and MATADOR ON THE MOON. THE MONTH OF ARCACHON was shortlisted for the National Besteller Prize in 2004. Vyacheslav has two daughters. He now lives in St Petersburg. | ||
