Sergei Samsonov's literary accomplishment, a powerful existential drama THE KAMLAEV ANOMALY.
We were also happy to introduce a new criminal drama ALL THAT GLITTERS by the prize-winning, celebrated author of "Do Time Get Time" (published in UK by Old Street; rights also sold to Poland and Bulgaria), Andrei Rubanov.
In the realm of quality commercial literature we specially focused on PACO ARAYA's series of three novels by Sergei Kostin.

The Russian rights to the series of spy novels about Paco Araya by Sergei Kostin have been sold to Populyarnaya Literatura Publishing House, who are planning to publish all three novels by the end of 2008, starting in May with the "Paris Weekend". The first printing for each title will be 100 000 copies. Previously "Paris Weekend" was published in English with Enigma Books, US.

Our authors Andrei Turgenev (with his novel "The Siege Novel. To Dream and to Believe") and Andrei Rubanov (with his novel "All That Glitters") have been long-listed for the BIG BOOK Award 2008. Congratulations!

The translation rights for «Geographer Drank Away His Globe» by Alexei Ivanov have been sold to Slovenia (SWA). The international list of publishers of this novel now includes: Librairie Artheme Fayard (French), Meulenhoff (Dutch), Alma Littera (Lithuanian), NSM-Media (Bulgarian), Solaris (Serbian), SWA (Slovenian).

Inostranka publishing house have successfully published the international bestseller "P.S. I Love You" by Cecelia Ahern for the occasion of the Russian release of the same name movie. Inostranka have also acquired the rights for the next three novels by Cecelia through our agency.

The translation rights for "The Man Who Knew Everything" by Igor Sakhnovski have been sold to Serbia (Laguna). The deal was made in cooperation with Plima Literary Agency.

The French translation rights for The Man Who Knew Everything by Igor Sakhnovski have been sold to Gallimard.

The French translation rights for the autobiographical novella Little Girl from the Metropol by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya have been sold to Christian Bourgois.

The novel "A New Russian's Diary - 2" by Elena Kolina was published by Blanvalet (Random House) in Germany.

Trip to Kettari by Max Frei was published by Blanvalet (Random House) in Germany.

The novel "BLACKBERRY SHOOT" by Lena Eltang was SHORTLISTED for the National Bestseller Prize 2007. Other authors in the list are: Ludmilla Ulitskaya, Vladimir Sorokin, Dmitry Bykov, Ilya Boyashov, Vadim Babenko.

The Bulgarian translation rights for the novel "Geographer Drank Away His Globe" by Alexei Ivanov have been sold to the publisher Infodar.

The translation rights for "Mr. Right and Mr. Wrong" by Elena Kolina have been sold to Turkey in cooperation with Kalem Agency.

The novel "CINEPHOBIA.RU" by Alexei Evdokimov was nominated for the Big Book Literary Award.

Penguin bought NA English language rights to the collection of mystical short stories by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya, "Scary Fairy Tales". Stories selected, foreworded and translated by Keith and Anna Gessen

Alexei Ivanov was invited to a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with leading representatives of Russian cultural life. The President and his guests discussed most topical cultural issues. The meeting was dedicated to anniversary of Prof. Likhachev.

Ludmilla Petrushevskaya gave a reading in "Restavratsia" restaurant. The author read some of her poems, scary fairy-tales (for grown-ups) and screened some of her animated films.

Goumen&Smirnova Literary Agency signed up to represent Ludmilla Petrushevskaya in Russia. This area was added to the international sphere in which the agency handled Petrushevskaya's work since spring 2006.

Goumen&Smirnova Literary Agency celebrated our launch during Non/Fiction Book Fair. We were happy to welcome our friends and colleagues at the Moscow club "Kitaiskii Liotchik Jao Da".
